I have been in manufacturing as a Plant Managing Engineer for over 15 years until I got tired of working for someone else. When I quit engineering and started building spec houses, I started painting and staining my own spec houses. One day while working on a particular spec house I had a lady come by with the Realtor to look at the house and I noticed that when she walked in she had taken her shoes off. Since it was summer time I did not think much of it, but when she started feeling the walls, stair casing, and mantle I realized that she was blind. After her brief tour of the spec house with the Realtor she told me she wanted to buy the house. Puzzled that a blind woman wanted to buy a house with a view, I asked her why that particular house and her reply was that she could feel that it was built right for all of the wood was smooth and perfectly done.
At McCoy Engineer we are not just a Paint and Stain service, we do everything your house could need to make it the dream you want it to be. I have been painting and staining for over 20 years with unparalleled service. We take pride in ensuring that a job is done right the first time and there is no job that is too small. Most painting services are good in painting on the outside, however, lack the attention to detail needed to do a good job on the inside, but on the inside is where McCoy Engineering really shines.
We are a Licensed and Insured Professional Contracting service and we always perform the job giving you the best quality at the best price. If you want a Contractor that understands the correct way to do a job and can explain why as much as he can perform the job, then I am the Contractor for you.
McCoy Engineering is a one shop full service provider. We just finished with the 3rd floor Restoration and remodeling of the Historical Harper Fowlkes House in Savannah, Georgia. The mansion is 180 years old and the 3rd floor is 154 years old and has had nothing done to it since it was built. It was severely damaged in every room and most rooms had 2 layers of wall paper either on the walls or ceilings or in some rooms both. We removed a wall between two bedrooms to make a conference room. Which was a good thing, because a lot of the original trim had been removed at one time or another and we used the trim from the walls to replace the missing trim. Built a shower and put a door in between the bedroom and bathroom #2. The wall removal again became critical since the existing walls were made with rough sown true 2 by 4's that can vary in width by over a half in, but they were needed to frame the new door between bedroom and bathroom #2. The door was made from scratch to give it the authentic historical feel. The Copula windows had to be completely removed, rebuilt, new glass put it and we put a UV film on them to help protect the walls and artwork. We had to repair and rebuild almost every inch of ceiling and wall, but it turned out great. One of the hardest challenges to overcome was the plumbing in bathroom #1. It originally had a tub at one time and someone had removed all bathroom appliances. While installing the toilet and sink, we discovered that whoever removed the bathroom appliances cut the draining pipes. This would not normally be a problem, but the pipes ran to other rooms for whatever reason and they also had been cut and were very difficult to track down. This was a great project for us because it allowed us to show all of our talents and allowed McCoy Engineering to be a part of history by restoring the Historical Harper Fowlkes House in Savannah, Georgia.
